Vizcaya Transporter Bridge

Posted by digitalCG (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 16 March 2018 in Transportation.

50 metres below, cars make the 160 metre crossing over the Nervion River on little more than a tea tray suspended by steel cables! The observation platform atop the structure dating back to 1893 shudders and shimmies disconcertingly every 8 minutes as the gondola ferries people and vehicles between Portugalete and Getxo on opposite banks.

The bridge became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2006.
