One of the stars of the show was Brutus, a car brought over by the Technik Museum Sinsheim.

Powered by a mighty 46 litre (!) aircraft engine on a chassis dating back to 1908, these guys monstered around the track with massive grins on their faces.

This rather self-indulgent little series details some of the variety (and petrolhead awe) I experienced at the 2010 Cholmondley Pageant Of Power - plans are afoot to make a weekend of it next year.

Normal service will resume next week with some 'photography'.
